Cassandra Marie Betts, also known as "Sandy", "Charlie" and "Cassie", was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Douglas Hughes, Sr. and Barbaranne Betts (Irving) on August 19, 1975. She departed this life on December 21, 2000.
Cassandra's belief in God was fostered during her infancy when Fr. Willard at St. Andrews Episcopal Church christenned her at the age 12 weeks. In adulthood, Cassandra continued her faith under the tutelage of Rev. Freddie Piphus when baptized at the Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church.
Cassandra was a 1993 graduate of Aiken High School. While attending Aiken, she received numerous awards such as: 1991-92 Aiken High School Coaches Award, 1991-92 Most Improved Junior, 1992-93 Perfect Attendance, 1992-93 Cheerleader Captain, and 1992-93 Most Spirited Cheerleader.
Cassandra was employed at the time of death by Empower MediaMarketing as an advertising executive, bringing the attributes of both professionalism and her dynamic personality to her job.
One of Cassandra's favorite hobbies was modeling. She was one of photographer Jason E. Winbush's favorite subjects; often gracing the pages of his True Color publication.
Cassandra had a unique love for God, life, family and friends. She was much loved by her co-workers. She was a joy at family gatherings; just this past Thanksgiving, she initiated the taking of family pictures.
Cassandra leaves to cherish and celebrate her life: one daughter, Justyce Eryn Martin; her parents, Barbaranne and H.
